Who we are

Historic House Recruitment is a specialist recruitment and advertising agency focusing on permanent and interim vacancies within the Historic House environment covering both the House and the Estate. We recruit for every level from senior management in the form of Chief Executives to Estate Mangers, Gamekeepers and general estate workers. Our aim is to assist in all aspects of the process from advertising positions on our jobs page, to acting as a recruitment consultancy where our aim is to target and find excellent candidates, which match our clients’ needs and expectations. We cover the whole of the British Isles and the Republic of Ireland. The aim of Historic House Recruitment is to centralise advertising and recruiting for both the private owner and national bodies, thus making it easier.

A quality service

Because of the unique Historic House Environment and the threats facing many house owners, we understand that a good team is essential to running and maintaining a historic house. We aim to offer a quality service. We take great care to establish exactly the needs and expectations of our clients and candidates. We aim to foster a professional, supportive relationship and full confidentiality is maintained. All candidates are interviewed; we look for relevant experience, attitude and professionalism. References will be verified.

Candidate Generation
Candidates come to us from many different sources, many come from word of mouth within the Historic house field, we also advertise on our web site and in magazines relating to Historic Houses and other specialist areas. Because we promote close links both regionally and nationally within the Historic House environment we also have a large database of candidates who are currently employed and not actively seeking a new role but would be responsive to an approach if the appropriate opportunity arose. Historic House Recruitment prides itself on being able to work across the entire spectrum of the candidate market, to target and find the right candidate for our clients. Should we need to undertake further specialist advertising for a client, the proposals for advertising will be drawn up and agreed with the client prior to us undertaking the work. Once a candidate has been accepted Historic House Recruitment will track the candidate closely through his/her notice so that we can anticipate any difficulties that arise.
